PRIVATE TREATY: MAJOR ISRAEL COLLECTION OF FULL SHEETS AND COVERS

This is a major collection, comprising about 100 albums, containing over 1300 different pristine mint sheets. Most were received directly from the Israel Postal Authorities. Almost every sheet has been carefully stored in large albums and is identified with Bale numbers on the margins of the pages. The collection starts at Bale 15 and then includes 18, 19, 20, 31, 38, 39, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 50, 51, 60-65, 93. It continues to about BALE 1200.There is one copy of each early sheet and multiple copies of the later sheets. In total, including duplication, there are approximately 5200 sheets.

There is a valuable section of about 600 full phosphor DEFINITIVE sheets. There are many different dates. There is much duplication: for example 138 Good Wishes Sheets and 76 Herzl sheets.

Another significant section contains over 250 full sheets on FDC from 1991 to 1994 with duplicate copies of most issues.

There is a collection of around 1800 covers which are mainly FDC but include some Klussendorf material.

Another album contains a collection of single tab stamps including much early quality material, including Bale 16, 17,and 2 sets of 29-30, 32-37,47,52-54,59 etc. The key Hunger TB [1963] mint sheet is included in this part of the collection.

There is also much miscellaneous unlisted material including packets of mint tab stamps which are still unopened, many first flight covers and post office opening covers and a few IDF cards .All this material is not included in the valuation. There is also a selection of about 900 MS some on FDC. Also included is a Feb 20, 1949 Official Ministry of Foreign Affairs cover with Bale 1-9 signed by Ben Gurion and Sharrett.

NOTE: The collection is located in the United Kingdom and will be mailed from there. The buyer MUST pay any and all shipping and handling costs and is responsible for any customs duties incurred. An inspection of the collection can be arranged in the UK.

The Bale 2004 catalogue value has been conservatively estimated at over $125,000.
