AUSTRIAN POST OFFICES STAMPS. The Austrian Post Office was heavily used by Jews in Jerusalem because of the location of the post office and the Jewish Postmaster. Mostly complete are the mint stamps from 1883 Numerals, 1888 Turkish Surcharge, 1890 Emperor’s Profile, 1891 Profile, 1896 High Values, 1900 Overprint, 1902 Postage Dues, 1903 Overprints, & 1908 Jubilee.

(2) Postal card mailed from Alexandria, Egypt to Dr. Arthur Ruppin (1876-1943), Zionist leader and thinker. (3) Postal card mailed to the Director of the Hebrew High School in Jaffa; cancelled in France but carried by Austrian post. All have filing holes over imprints and cancels.
